So Christmas is coming soon (28 days), and giving gifts is a fun way to spread the holiday cheer.  For your friends and family of the female variety, bath salts are a great gift.  Especially christmas themed ones.  That way once all the craziness of christmas has died down they can actually enjoy it.  So here's the recipe:

Makes: 20 ounces
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Shelf Life: Indefinite

Ingredients:

• 2 cups epsom salts
• 1/2 cup sea salt
• 4-5 drops peppermint essential oil
• 2-3 drops red food coloring

How to make it:

• Place 1 cup of epsom salt and 1/4 cup of sea salt in a separate bowl.  Add 2-3 drops of peppermint oil and mix it until it's distributed evenly.
• Place 1 cup of epsom salt and 1/4 cup of sea salt in another bowl.  Add 2-3 drops of peppermint oil and 2-3 drops of red food coloring. Mix until it's distributed evenly.
• Package with care.

Packaging ideas:

• Evenly distribute salt mixture amongst cellophane bags.  Tie off with a ribbon and a tag.  Tie a candy cane to the bag if so desired.  When packing the different colors you can carefully make a striped effect by putting in some red salt then clear salt.  Or you can keep them separate when packaged.
• Do the striped effect in a small glass jar.  (Or the separate thing works too!). Wrap a ribbon around the lid, attach a note and a candy cane on top of the lid.

I'm definitely thinking of making these for friends and family.  What do you guys think?
